Women's Health

Fertility, Pregnancy, & Post-Partum

Acupuncture and physical therapy can both be used to treat fertility issues. Acupuncture works to balance out underlying issues which can be contributing to the problems the woman is having. Physical therapy can help to alleviate physical restrictions in the connective tissue surrounding and supporting the uterus, tubes and ovaries allowing for better blood flow within the pelvis and helping to normalize cycles. Once pregnant, PT and acupuncture can help to alleviate many issues like morning sickness, reflux, and back pain. Acupuncture can be used to help prepare the body for a successful labor as well as turn a breach baby. PT can prepare the pelvic floor for a less traumatic delivery before and help return the pelvis to optimal function afterwards.

PMS & Painful Periods!

We offer both physical therapy and acupuncture for the treatment of painful periods. Acupuncture can help to balance the body’s system to alleviate bloating, cramping, irritability, and cravings. In cases where there are physical restrictions, physical therapy can help to increase the mobility within the pelvis to decrease pain.

Bladder Dysfunction & Painful Intercourse

Whether it is an issue with needing to go all the time or losing urine with coughing, sneezing, laughing or exercise, or all of the above, there are treatments available to improve bladder function without meds. Suffering with bladder issues is optional! The same issues that create bladder dysfunction can also create painful intercourse. Physical therapy can help to normalize the pelvic floor, calm down nerves, and help to retrain your muscles to function properly. Sex should be enjoyable, not painful!
